At the prestigious India Couture Week held on July 31 in New Delhi, Dolly J unveiled a mesmerizing collection inspired by the celestial wonders of the moon. The ethereal showcase culminated with the graceful presence of Bollywood luminary Disha Patani, who elegantly graced the runway in a resplendent silver ensemble, reminiscent of the stars.
On the seventh day of India Couture Week, Dolly J unveiled ‘Selene,’ a women’s wear collection that embodied celestial motifs, with models adorned in wire halos evoking the essence of celestial goddesses. The collection intertwined figure-hugging, luminescent gowns with netting and sculptural elements, alongside traditional lehengas and dresses featuring exquisite cut-outs and sheer segments, resulting in an otherworldly allure.
The fabrics, ranging from tulle to metallic tissues, were adorned with sequins in shades of silver, copper, and gunmetal, while subtle floral prints infused a botanical grace. The runway, enveloped in a dramatic black, wet-look setting, was adorned with lunar boulders, adding an enigmatic touch.
Describing the collection, the Fashion Design Council of India shared, “The collection is inspired by the mesmerising presence of the enigmatic moon, which stands as a timeless symbol of mystery, beauty, and wonder. It features soft, flowing silhouettes that accentuate the wearer, evoking the moon’s gentle radiance.”
India Couture Week’s 16th edition, spanning multiple locations in New Delhi including the Taj Palace from July 25 to August 2, has been made possible by the sponsorship of Hyundai and in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited.
